The Youth Department of United Synagogue (Nativ, USY and Kadima) seeks an enthusiastic and creative person to coordinate all departmental communications. The position is located in Manhattan and is full time.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Working with teenage organizational leaders to plan content for magazines and the website;
Design, layout, planning, creation of themes, and editorial review of submissions for magazines, newsletters, brochures, advertisements, etc.;
Overseeing the organizational website, including working on site maintenance and site content;
Serving as the department liaison for reports and news briefs for distribution to organizational constituents;
Assisting in logistical planning for various meetings and conventions throughout the year;
Placing advertisements in Jewish media (newspapers, magazines, etc.) as necessary.
Work with a dynamic professional team to create meaningful Jewish experiences for youth.
Other education responsibilities may be available, depending on experience.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have creative design skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop and Pagemaker (or another graphic design program), and web-design programs. Some travel is required throughout the year. Must be friendly and open to working with many different individuals and groups, as well as working in a deadline-oriented group environment.
