Job Available: Jewish Teen Initiative (JTI) Program Coordinator

Scope of Responsibilities:

1. Youth Director (Conservative Synagogue)
• Oversee and manage USY synagogue-based youth program implementation, recruitment, marketing, and budgeting

• Working with the Youth Education Program at religious school
• Further develop and maintain relationship between temple and JTI
• Participation in identified professional development opportunities

2. Program Coordinator for JTI

• Coordinate social & social action programs for teens
• Work with Jewish Student Union Clubs
• Staff JTI Community Programs
• Participation in identified professional development opportunities

The staff person will work 2.5 days a week at the Synagogue and 2.5 days a week at the Jewish Federation's Jewish Teen Initiative offices.

Department Description:

The Jewish Teen Initiative is an outstanding Jewish Youth Program in the greater Palm Beach community. The Jewish Teen Initiative (JTI) is a department of the local Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. We are the umbrella organization for all local youth programming on the community level; working with, and in some cases, directly overseeing, the local teen programs and synagogue-based youth groups.

The Jewish Teen Initiative is a change agent and continuously working to strengthen and build the local teen community. JTI is constantly growing and forming partnerships with additional local synagogues. Multiple professional development opportunities and excellent supervision are also provided by JTI and the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. Education/Experience:
We are looking for an innovative, energetic person to assume the position of Jewish Teen Initiative (JTI) Program Coordinator for one local conservative congregation and Program Coordinator for the Jewish Teen Initiative.

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in one of the following areas: Jewish Education, Jewish Studies, Social Work, Non-profit Management, Business Administration or similar
• 1+ years experience working with Jewish youth either in synagogues, youth groups, camping, Hillel, JCC, or Israel

• Willing to work nights and weekends with the teenagers and travel with the youth to Programs/Shabbatonim
• Strong knowledge of basic office computing, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic database skills
• Experience managing a budget
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required (Verbal and Written)
• Highly organized with proven ability to manage multiple tasks
• Sound work ethic and flexibility to get the job done
• Ability to think innovatively and creatively
• Someone eager to join a team of Youth Professionals who is making great strides to help shape the local Teen Community.
• The ability to create positive relationships with teens and parents
• USY experience preferred
