CBI is a Conservative Synagogue affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.

Job Description

CBI is seeking a full-time Youth Director to develop, promote, and lead programs and activities for the CBI youth. The director will facilitate a wide range of religious, social action, and social activities that enhance Jewish identity, facilitate friendships, develop leadership and build a sense of community.

The dynamic, creative and energetic Youth Director we seek will be responsible for goal-setting, planning and implementation of Jewish youth programming for grades 3-12.

As a member of the synagogue professional staff, he/she will work closely with senior staff, including Rabbi, Hazzan, Executive Director, and Education Director.

He/She will communicate regularly with synagogue staff, Youth Commission and Board of Trustees to ensure that the youth program has the necessary support/resources to achieve its goals.

Weekly schedule will be flexible as most programming takes place in the evenings and on weekends.

Job Requirements:

• Possess a love of working with and developing Jewish youth of all ages
• Possess an engaging/charismatic personality.
• Energetic, self starter, coach, high desire to make things happen.
• Leadership - a highly positive Jewish role model, with strong organization, oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate experience in leading services and teaching programs, in both formal and informal settings.

Possibility exists for position as a paid Religious School Teacher as well.

Full Time – 20 to 30 average hours per week.
